On August 29, the 2023 Green, Low-Carbon and High-Quality Development Conference was held in Yantai. This is the first international event in Shandong Province with the theme of green, low-carbon and high-quality development. At the conference, a number of large and well-known domestic and foreign companies signed a number of green and low-carbon projects. Shandong Hi-Speed Group signed a wind power project development agreement with the Heze Municipal Government on behalf of Shandong Hi-Speed Group.
In early August, Shandong Province launched competitive negotiations for its first batch of centralized onshore wind power projects under the 14th Five-Year Plan. This marks the first time Shandong Province has restarted the approval process for most municipal onshore wind power projects since 2017. The projects, totaling 8.755 million kilowatts, are planned for construction in six cities including Jinan, Heze, and Liaocheng.
Facing unprecedented project opportunities and fierce competition, Shandong Hi-Speed Group, under its overall coordination, successfully won a wind power project with a capacity of 387,500 kilowatts. Located in Heze, a region with abundant wind energy reserves and a high wind shear index, the project is expected to have a total investment of 2.8 billion yuan, generating 1 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, saving 300,000 tons of standard coal, and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 800,000 tons. This will contribute “Shandong Hi-Speed Group’s strength” to the construction of a “Shandong Demonstration Zone for a Strong Transportation Nation” and a “Pioneer Zone for Green, Low-Carbon, and High-Quality Development.”
The successful bid is another concentrated manifestation of the strong resource empowerment from Shandong Hi-Speed Group’s shareholder after Shandong Hi-Speed New Energy became a member company. It also represents the industry’s full affirmation of the company’s advantages and core capabilities in the entire process of “investment, financing, technology, construction, and operation” in the new energy field, showcasing the company’s investment and development capabilities, industrial integration capabilities, and the excellent reputation and brand awareness of Shandong Hi-Speed New Energy in the domestic clean energy industry.
